Mindfullness in the Workplace

Mindspace offers a variety of programs to fit your offices needs and schedule. Ranging from one day trainings in a basic meditation practice employees can take home with them, to more intensive trainings specifically designed to accelerate creativity, affective communication, love, and respect for one another.

 

Our Mission

At mindspace our mission is to bring a general sense of well being and peace to the workplace. Our programs are designed to get employees and employers in touch with the often unseen beauty that exists in every moment. This results an increase in creativity, happiness, effective communication and basic appreciation for one another. We want people to love where they work and the people who the work with.  Social change has to start with how we show up in our daily lives. If we can find a sense of joy in our daily experience we will naturally spread that joy to the rest of the world and become a source of inspiration for the community. 


What We OFFer

The Baseline

Our Baseline program offers training in a highly effective yet basic daily meditation practice. Also known as Shamata-vipassana practice, participants are trained in one-pointed concentration combined with an appreciation for our innate awareness of our experience. This practice focuses on calming the mind by focussing on our Breath while getting in touch with our thoughts, our emotions, and our bodies. This exercise is highly effective in developing equanimity and appreciation toward our daily experience as well as getting in touch with a sense of rest and well being within ourselves. This practice has been time tested and used for centuries and is the main practice of many buddhist traditions throughout the world. It is completely non-denominational and accessible for all. Student's are also provided with a basic philosophical understanding of how meditation should be viewed and used to be most affective. This program includes, meditation instruction, a lecture, and a question and answer forum.

The Heart (Recommended)

In meditation it is important to have a full grasp and understanding of the practice. In this workshop we explore our practice on a much deeper level both with our personal interaction with the teacher and in practices specifically designed to help in our discovery of our natural joy for life and appreciation of others. In this program students combine their practice of shamata-vipassana meditation with what we call the four immeasurable's; Immeasurable Love, Immeasurable Equanimity, Immeasurable Joy, and Immeasurable Compassion. In this practice we take the mind into a journey where we discover how we bring our greatest qualities into the world and the workplace. This is highly affective in establishing respectful and effective communication among colleagues in an effort to create a harmonious work environment. We want people to cherish those who they interact with on a daily basis to improve their general quality of life, reduce physical and mental stress. The result is an increase creativity, teamwork, and an overall collective interest in the well being of their business and co-workers. We want people to look forward to their work day and arriving at their workplace. This is an extended workshop which typically takes place over the course of 4 to 5 sessions and is spaced out so that students can refine their practice while having access to a teacher over time.
